Norinco unveiled its VT5 tracked medium tank, developed specifically for the export market, at the Zhuhai Airshow in October 2016. Weighing between 33-36t, depending upon the armour package fitted, the VT5 is designed for use on terrain where conventional 50-70t MBTs cannot easily operate.
