The Cottonmouth is a purpose-built 6x6 amphibious reconnaissance vehicle designed by Textron Systems to meet the requirements of the USMC’s Advanced Reconnaissance Vehicle (ARV) programme. It is built around an open architecture to facilitate the integration of a range of sensors, C4I equipment and weapons stations. An initial prototype of Cottonmouth was unveiled in April 2021 and is undergoing testing with the
