International Dismounted Soldier 2025Within the context of modern asymmetric warfare, today's dismounted soldier is required to operate in a variety of environments and terrains (including littoral, cold weather, urban, desert and jungle) for which they need to be trained and equipped with the right technology on their physical person and externally to aid in their missions. The concept of the transparent battlefield has emerged and changed the dynamics of warfare for the dismounted soldier. Dismounted soldiers not only have to be agile enough to operate across multiple terrains but they also have to be able to operate in an environment where their enemy can potentially see and/or track every movement and activity.Recognising the various needs of today's dismounted soldier the two-day international conference will feature a top-down, strategic day where senior military leaders, industry and academics will come together to establish the current context in which the dismounted solider has to operate in and provide an overview of what the future looks like in terms of interoperability, the acquisition process, the future of lethality, the impact of urbanisation in warfare on the dismounted soldier and more.
